Being closely associated with the refrigeration industry, CAREFUL CARRIERS' routes are largely determined by the projects that are in progress. There is also a large amount of regular traffic between the major centres. The number and size of the trucks vary according to the refrigeration industry season, with a peak in the July to November period.
CAREFUL CARRIERS are flexible having a varied fleet, and are therefore able to change scheduled plans from sending a single 1-ton bakkie to Durban to sending 2 x 18m links to Malawi, as and when required. In addition there is a facility whereby industry clients can reserve a set amount of space on specific days for their inter branch transport, on a scheduled basis.
Johannesburg to Durban
Trucks depart daily between these two centres, based on demand. There may be a 3 ton truck on this route or as many as three combinations departing on the same day. Trucks normally depart at 19h00 and arrive in Durban at 09h00 the following morning.
Johannesburg to Cape Town
On the direct route vehicles travel every other day via either Bloemfontein or Kimberley dependant on demand. The trucks leave Lanseria in the evening and the driver is required to be in Bloemfontein or Kimberley the next morning. Arrival in Cape Town depot is at 07h00 the following morning. Trucks depart Mondays, Wednesdays, and on Saturdays for arrival Monday morning.
Other Centres
Although there are no other scheduled routes, the route between Johannesburg and Nelspruit (including surrounding areas) currently requires approximately 4 vehicles per month. This route is increasing in frequency.
Deliveries to Windhoek, Gaberones, Upington, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho are based on demand.

Part (shared) Loads
Part loads are the most economic forms of transport being charged according to the deck space utilised and not the specific vehicle. Goods destined for shared loads are collected during the course of the day for loading onto the inter-city trucks that evening.
Part loads are predominantly utilised to the major centres, but are also available to other areas - subject to load times.
